Our hands-on VEAZY review: hybrid heating, three temp steps, Web App customization, battery life, flavour notes, and how it compares to VENTY, Mighty+ and Crafty+.
The Storz & Bickel VEAZY is the most portable, most accessible entry into the S&B portable lineup — hybrid heating, three simple temps on-board, and deeper control through the S&B Web App. Here’s the real-world breakdown, what it does well, what it doesn’t, and who it’s actually for.
The VEAZY is one of those products where expectations are the whole game. At first glance it looks like a slimmed-down VENTY — and in a few ways it feels inspired by it — but it is not a “small VENTY.” If you’re expecting the VENTY’s wide-open airflow and top-shelf power in a smaller body, you’re going to be disappointed.
If you’re expecting a more carry-friendly, simplified Storz & Bickel experience — consistent results, great usability, and solid vapour quality with less fuss — then the VEAZY makes a lot of sense. It’s not trying to replace the VENTY; it’s trying to be the easiest on-ramp into the S&B world.
In the hand, the VEAZY feels tall and slim — almost like a little handle. It’s the kind of shape that disappears into a pocket more easily than chunkier portables. Compared to a VENTY it’s clearly more “grab-and-go,” and it’s the kind of device you can toss in a bag without thinking about it.
The body is plastic, but it’s not the flimsy “toy plastic” you’d expect from a budget device. Storz & Bickel leans into high-temp, durable materials here — and in daily use, that matters because it helps the unit stay comfortable to hold. A metal shell can feel premium, but it can also get annoyingly hot if the design isn’t perfect. The VEAZY avoids that problem.
It also comes in four colours (black, blue, orange, pink). Most people will probably buy black, but it’s still nice to have options that don’t look like every other portable on earth.
Battery life is good, not legendary. Most people land around 7–8 sessions per charge depending on temperature, session length, and how aggressively they run Boost/Superboost. In more standardized testing, it usually works out to roughly 40-ish minutes of runtime, which is right where you’d expect a smaller portable to sit.
Charging is USB-C and the port is on the side, so you can charge it while it stands upright — a small design choice, but genuinely one of those “why doesn’t everyone do this?” wins. Charge time is typically around 90 minutes from empty to full with a strong charger, and it doesn’t behave like a true fast-charge device.
The VEAZY’s biggest selling point is that it’s dead simple. There’s one button and an LED. Turn it on, wait for the ready signal, and inhale. No technique required.
Out of the box, the VEAZY runs a familiar three-step session:
The exact click pattern you’ll see referenced most often is: double-click to go up to Boost, and then another multi-click to reach Superboost. (Your on-screen LED patterns and feedback will confirm where you’re at.)
Heat-up time is solid: typically around 35–60 seconds depending on the temperature you’re pushing and how full the battery is.
One personal gripe: the VEAZY can vibrate when it drops below temp and again when it returns to temp. It comes back to temperature quickly, so that extra buzzing can feel unnecessary — but the good news is you can disable it in the Web App.
You do not need the app to use the device — at all. The VEAZY works fine in stock, on-board mode. But the Web App is where you unlock the full experience and fix most “out of the box” complaints.
The VEAZY uses Storz & Bickel’s Web App at app.storz-bickel.com. It’s browser-based (not a traditional App Store app), and the key detail is Web Bluetooth support:
Once connected, you can:
This is the part many people miss: the VEAZY can feel a bit “soft” out of the box because the default base temperature is low. A quick temperature tweak in the Web App often brings it much closer to what people expect from Storz & Bickel.
The VEAZY delivers a very “classic S&B” experience in the sense that it’s a strong balance of comfort, extraction, and repeatability. It’s the kind of device that gives reliable results session after session — and that’s why people keep coming back to Storz & Bickel in the first place.
At the stock base temperature (356°F), vapour is light and extremely comfortable — but for a lot of people it will be too light. If your first session feels soft, that’s normal. It’s not broken; the default temp is simply conservative.
Move into Boost and Superboost and it becomes much more satisfying: thicker output, stronger extraction, and the “full session” feeling most people are after.
Compared to the VENTY:
The simplest way to describe the draw is: it feels closer to a Mighty+ / Crafty+ level of restriction than the wide-open VENTY. If you’ve used the VENTY airflow dial, it can feel like the VENTY set around the low end rather than fully open.
This is where reviewers split, and where expectations can get a little “wine snob.” Some people say VEAZY flavour is slightly muted or slightly harsher compared to VENTY and Mighty+ at the same temperatures. One theory is that aspects of the heater design (including stainless steel mesh elements) can subtly affect flavour.
My take: side-by-side, sure — you might notice differences. But in normal use, most people are going to think it tastes great and move on with their day. If you’re extremely flavour-focused and you already own a VENTY, you’ll probably still prefer the VENTY. That’s not a knock on VEAZY; it’s just the reality of the lineup.
The VEAZY uses the familiar Storz & Bickel chamber format and works with dosing capsules, which is a huge quality-of-life win: quicker loading, cleaner sessions, and less mess when you’re out of the house.
For most users, the VEAZY shines as a “low → medium → high” session device: start at base for flavour and comfort, then step up as you want more density and stronger extraction. It’s simple, repeatable, and very hard to mess up.
If Storz & Bickel shipped this with a slightly higher default base temp, fewer people would bounce off it after one “meh” session. The Web App fix is easy — but your first session matters.
If you already own a VENTY and love it for airflow and power, the VEAZY will feel like a downgrade. It’s smaller and more portable, but it doesn’t bring a new “performance tier” — it’s a convenience tier.
If you’re comparing within the lineup:
The clean way to think about it: VEAZY is an entry point and travel-friendly option. If you want the best portable S&B can do, you’re still looking at VENTY.
The VEAZY makes the most sense for:
It’s probably not for:
The VEAZY is a smart move from Storz & Bickel. It’s still not “cheap,” but it’s the most accessible portable entry into the brand — and it keeps the core S&B strengths: consistency, comfort, and easy results.
Just go in with the right expectation: it’s not a mini VENTY — it’s a simpler, more portable S&B experience that becomes much better once you take five minutes to set your temps in the Web App.
