How to Use the Tempest 2 Loading the Bowl Unscrew the cap and fill by pressing into your ground material or use the hoover/straw method. Keep threads clean and ensure good airflow — light tamping only. Gently screw the cap on, avoiding contact with steel surfaces to prevent residue burning. Heating with a Torch Hold the flame tip about 1 cm (⅓ inch) from the cap. Rotate slowly for even heating and listen for the click indicator. Never heat the visual indicators directly. Dual- or triple-flame torches deliver the best results. Heating with the Wand Induction Heater Press the Wand’s main button twice to start. Set ~290 °C (550 °F) for the zirconia balls and wait for “Time Over.” Adjust temperature or adapter depth for preference. The Wand delivers consistent, repeatable heating without manual tracking.
