Hey guys, it's Sneaky Pete here and here's my five best tips to get big DynaVap hits. 

1 - Single Flame Torch

The first thing you’ll want is to use a single flame torch. Using a single flame torch is going to allow you to steer the flame and heating it exactly where you want it. It's also going to take longer to heat up the oven as compared to a double or a triple flame torch which is going to give you more residual heat built up in your tip resulting in a larger hit.

2 - Heat Low On The Cap

Next, and this is probably the single most important thing, you want to heat it low on the cap. Aim your single flame torch at the bottom part of your cap rather than the top part; the top is going to click a lot faster, and the bottom is going to click a lot slower. Just like the first point, having a slower click is going to mean more heat in the oven which results in a bigger hit.

3 - Spinning & Lighter Position

Next is how you position and heat your DynaVap. With any butane torch, you're going to have this blue flame that has this more pronounced section, and you want the DynaVap cap right at that more pronounced flame rather than at the very end, less-pronounced section. This puts you in the perfect zone to heat it and when you do, you’ll want to spin it rapidly. Hold it exactly where you want it in place and then spin it rapidly as to avoid any hot spots.

4 - Push It Past The Click

The next step for success is to keep heating it slightly after the click. You’ll want to respect the click, you don't want to go completely off the radar, but going to an extra two seconds after it clicks is going to lead to a much hotter oven and give you a serious extra boost in terms of your hit size. Now, that doesn't give you a license to do it as much as you want, but one or two seconds after the click will make a tremendous difference and I wouldn't do any more than that.

5 - Half-Bowl Converter For More Thermal Mass

Finally, adding one of our Sneaky Pete Half-Bowl Converters can make a world of difference for your tip. These little rings of either stainless-steel or titanium allow you to perfectly use a half bowl position in your tip and adding the metal converter also increases the thermal mass. These are going to drink up a bunch of heat before that heat is going to transfer up to make it click, leading to an even warmer oven and again a bigger hit.
