The Best Dry Herb Vaporizers on a Budget

Here are the best dry herb vaporizers on a budget, starting with the cheapest. While the word budget means different things to different people, we’re going to look at vapes that are all under $200. I understand that’s not pocket change, but that’s a realistic investment for a reliable dry herb vaporizer that won’t need replacing six months down the line.

As the saying goes: you get what you pay for. Which means these vapes, while all affordable, don’t necessarily offer the same quality, style and performance. I chose them because they do all offer sound engineering, longevity and, of course, an enjoyable vape experience. So bear that in mind along with your individual budget when browsing the cheapest and best vaporizers.

Best Budget Dry Herb Vaporizer #1   Flowermate Slick - $95

The most affordable dry herb vaporizer on our list, the Flowermate Slick is an extremely easy-to-use, highly portable, and ultra cheap vaporizer that offers solid performance.

At $95, it’s a top contender to the entry-level market and is Flowermate’s slimmest and sleekest dry herb vaporizer. This vape device features primarily convection heating, a removable and replaceable battery for a longer life, a fast heat-up speed, and a glass mouthpiece.

The borosilicate glass mouthpiece leads into a black ceramic chamber to create a fully isolated airpath. This provides excellent flavor and a cleaner, healthier vaping experience. The chamber holds up to 0.4g of dry herb and converts it to pure vapor. There’s zero chance of combustion.

The Flowermate Slick has a single button for control with haptic (tactile) feedback, and three built-in temperatures (385°F, 400°F and 420°F) which make it super easy to use for beginners. It heats up in 30 seconds and provides 45-60 minutes of vaporization per charge. Best of all we like it because the performance/price ratio is simply outstanding. Best Budget Dry Herb Vaporizer #2   DynaVap M 2020 - $71

The DynaVap M 2020 is a budget dry herb vaporizer and a marvel of engineering. Combined with an external heat source (like a butane torch style lighter or induction heater) it delivers superb performance at an affordable price of $71.

This latest model from the DynaVap line boasts the kinds of features usually only found on their higher end vapes. These include twin chiral airports (for high-turbulence air injection), the Captive Cap (for greater airflow) and the adjust-a-bowl (for easy microdosing). With intelligent and well-considered improvements on the 2019 model, the M 2020 is a fast favorite.

Made from medical grade stainless steel, it has a 10mm tapered mouthpiece for direct inhalation and makes great clouds with water vaporization too. It’s unlike any other dry herb vaporizer out there so read my step-by-step DynaVap user guide to get a better feel for its operation.

What’s more, the new faceted tip with airflow serrations gives a better look and better functionality than previous models. This puts the performance of the M 2020 way ahead. In fact, after years of making cumulative improvements to their portable dry herb vaporizers, I feel like they really nailed it with the DynaVap M 2020. Read more about the DynaVap M 2020 here.

Best Budget Dry Herb Vaporizer #3   Flowermate V5 Nano - $160

At $160, the Flowermate V5 Nano is ideal if you want a budget vaporizer that is small in size and big on features. It improves on every aspect of its predecessor, the Flowermate Mini, and adds new features to increase the functionality and vapor quality. This little guy hits hard.

The vaporization comes from a mixture of convection and conduction for increased efficiency, and the 18650 battery is removable and replaceable. With a black ceramic oven, it heats up fast in just 30 seconds. There’s a bright OLED screen to display the temperature, single degree temperature adjustment, and a vibration motor. It’s a slick portable vape with a glass mouthpiece that stores securely in the body itself and comes in several metallic colors.

Overall the Flowermate V5 Nano produces large and tasty vapor clouds, which are cooled by the glass stem which also feels great on the lips. The easy-to-use, low maintenance aspect of the device makes it an attractive choice for beginner vapers, while the quality and volume of clouds will be appreciated by experienced users too. Best Budget Dry Herb Vaporizer #4   Simrell Vortex Stem - $199

We recommend the Vortex Stem if you already own a DynaVap Tip and DynaVap Cap to which it’s designed to attach for an incredible and highly customizable vape experience. At $199, and with a tip/cap accessory required, the Vortex Stem is not the cheapest way to start dry herb vaporizing but it is an elegant one—and still within the range of affordability.

This awesome vape tool won Product of The Year at the 2019 Sneaky Pete Vape Awards and here’s why: it’s sophisticated yet simple, giving spectacular airflow engineering. The major innovation is the stem’s precision airflow-shaping carb. It’s more advanced than the air intake of any factory stem on the market. The teardrop shape is cut at 90 degrees to the stem’s axis which gives you complete control over the airflow dynamics to tune and shape your hit.

Made from pure titanium, it’s a single, light piece with an integrated condenser. It comes in two colors, and the Galactic Camo design is super sassy. It’s a real conversation starter. The stem feels like a million bucks in your hand and works like a true gentleman with any 10mm water tool. I love this stem and the way it brings a new layer of fun to the DynaVap experience. If you want to shape your hits this is an outstanding dry herb vaporizer device. Read more about the Simrell Vortex Stem here.

Best Budget Dry Herb Vaporizer #5   Arizer Air 2 - $170

The Arizer Air 2 doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does improve on every aspect of its predecessor. This gives you a simple, highly portable vape device with solid performance for $184.

As a hybrid convection and conduction vaporizer, the Arizer Air 2 has an awesome battery life of about 75 minutes of use per charge. You can also vape while charging. It’s impressive when you consider the size and power and the fact that the batteries are interchangeable.

The heat up time is a little lazy at 60-90 seconds, and we found we needed to wait a further 15 seconds after that until it’s properly ready. However, the resulting performance is top notch, and the flavor is knockout good with whole buds. At 375°F it actually puts out more vapor than many other devices at higher temperatures, which for us counters the demand of the slower heat-up time. It comes with a short stem, although we recommend one of these Arizer-compatible long stems, water pipe adapters, or bubble straws for the perfectly cooled hit, otherwise the vapor can be a little warm.

The Arizer Air 2 is extremely efficient, so you’ll save a lot of money with this budget dry herb vaporizer. No need to keep raising the temperature towards the end of your session—the bowl just keeps going and going. The addition of the OLED screen is a huge improvement on the last model, allowing for precise temperature control and ease in changing your settings. And the draw resistance has been lowered which allows for a much easier pull.

Like all Arizer products, the Air 2 model is military grade and will last forever. If you’re a klutz this would be an excellent choice—we never hear about Arizers breaking, and we attribute that to the sound build quality. Overall, it's one of the easiest vaporizers for beginners to use and the vapor is tasty, smooth, and plentiful. Read more about the Arizer Air 2 here.

Best Budget Dry Herb Vaporizer #6   Healthy Rips Fury 2 - $145

The Fury 2 by Healthy Rips is a seriously tiny vaporizer that packs a surprising punch. Pocket-sized and easy to palm, it heats up in as little as 20 seconds through hybrid convection and conduction heating. You’re looking at a battery life of around 40 minutes.

The metal unibody design makes this dry herb vaporizer light but strong, and it stores easily in your pocket with a protective top cover to keep the lint out. It features a 1600mah Li-Po battery, a stainless steel bowl, and a bright OLED display to control the unit. You can use it as is, or pair it with this compatible water pipe adapter for mind-boggling performance.

The temperature control on the Fury 2 is precise and reliable, which is critical to getting the desired effects from your chosen herb. Overall it receives rave reviews from beginners as an easy-to-use, stealthy device and we agree it’s a superb choice for getting started. Read more about Healthy Rips Fury 2 here.
