Introducing the Sneaky Pete Half-Bowl Converter

Hey everyone, it's Sneaky Pete here, and today I want to share something that I'm really excited about. If you've seen any of my 2021 Dynavap reviews, whether it's the M7, M7 XL, the Vong i, or the Omni, you've heard me advocating for the half-bowl position. I prefer this position for two main reasons. 

Benefits of the Half-Bowl Position

1. Conservation of Flower

The obvious benefit of the half-bowl position is that you're using half the amount of flower with each bowl. Imagine the small amount you put in, then cut that by half—you'll start conserving a ton of flower.

2. Fresher Hits

The other major benefit is that you get more fresh hits. This means you're switching out your load more often, resulting in better flavour and, in my experience, better effects.

The Problem with Achieving the Half-Bowl Position

While the half-bowl position offers great benefits, achieving it can be a challenge. Even with improved tolerances, it's tough to get that perfect half-bowl position without a brand-new, pristine CCD. This led me to think about how to make this process easier and more effective.

I had a lightbulb moment and came up with a simple yet effective solution: the Sneaky Pete Half-Bowl Converter. 

What is the Sneaky Pete Half-Bowl Converter?

The Half-Bowl Converter is a precision-machined piece of titanium or stainless steel that fits directly into your Dynavap tip. It sits exactly below the level where your CCD needs to be to achieve the half-bowl position.

Compatibility and Ease of Use

This converter works with any bowl that has the adjust-a-bowl feature, including any titanium tip and the M7 tip. It's incredibly easy to use:

1. Leave your CCD in the bowl if you want, although I recommend not doing this.

2. Place the flat side of the converter down in the bowl.

3. Put your CCD on top of the converter.

4. Use a small tool or the condenser to press the CCD into place.

Once installed, the converter is locked in place and won't come out until you want it to. 

Installing and Removing the Converter

Installing the converter is quick and easy. Simply drop it in, place your CCD on top, and press it down with a tool. To remove it, use a condenser to press down, and the CCD and converter will pop out. If it's dirty, a bit of isopropyl alcohol will help clean it.

Additional Benefits

1. Extended CCD Life

Using the converter helps preserve the integrity of your CCDs, meaning you won't need to replace them as often.

2. Increased Thermal Mass

The converter increases the thermal mass in your Dynavap tip, which can delay the click by a couple of seconds when heating at the low end of the cap. This results in a hotter oven and a thicker hit. If you prefer a lighter hit, simply heat closer to the tip as usual. Do not underestimate how much this can supercharge a half-bowl!

Conclusion

Since I started using the Half-Bowl Converter, I haven't set up a single tip without it. The benefits of the half-bowl position like increased efficiency and better flavour, combined with the added thermal mass, enhance the overall experience.
