Explore the craftsmanship, design, and performance of the Vapman Click and Lotus butane vaporizers in this deep-dive interview with their creators. Learn what sets them apart and how to get the best results from each unique device.
In this exclusive interview, we sat down with Michael and David — the minds behind Inhale, the company that crafts both the Vapman Click and the Lotus vaporizer. We explored everything from materials and build process to the new features and real-world usage tips. If you're curious about artisan-level butane vaporizers, this conversation is your deep dive.
The Vapman stands out for its signature hybrid heating system and its intuitive, ergonomic design. The gold-plated copper chamber allows for extremely fast and even heat distribution, combining conduction from the copper pan with convection from the tri-jet air nozzle system. It’s efficient, flavourful, and uniquely tactile.
The Vapman uses premium materials throughout: gold-plated copper for the heating chamber, stainless steel components, and natural wood for insulation and aesthetics. The mouthpiece is made from high-quality POM plastic — soft on the lips, safe in solvents, and comfortable in cold climates. All metal parts are sourced from Switzerland and Italy.
Yes — nearly every Vapman and Lotus is hand-assembled in Switzerland. Michael and David began by building every device themselves, and now work with a trusted assembler named Betim. Their workshop uses a blend of traditional craftsmanship and tight quality control, including placing delicate air nozzles by hand and individually finishing each piece.
The new Click feature brings precise, beginner-friendly heating to the Vapman. It audibly clicks at around 200°C, signalling the perfect time to inhale, then clicks again at 180°C as it cools. This helps eliminate guesswork and makes it easier than ever to get consistent results — especially for first-time butane users.
Use a fine grind, packed loosely. Heat the gold plate with a jet-style torch directly on the Inhale logo until it clicks. Inhale slowly until the device clicks back. Want more intensity? Heat 1–2 seconds past the click. You can fine-tune airflow by adjusting the mouthpiece or using your finger to feather the intake. Draw speed matters — slow and steady wins the race.
Absolutely. The efficient hybrid heating and the thermal properties of copper make the Vapman excellent for microdosing. The click chamber holds around 0.2g, but the device extracts so efficiently that users often report getting fully medicated on very small amounts.
The Lotus offers a pure convection experience, heating air between two metal plates before it passes through the herb. It hits hard, clears a bowl in one lungful, and is best for use with water pipes or big, open draws. Compared to the more portable and nuanced Vapman, the Lotus is more of a home session powerhouse.
For both Michael and David, the best part is clearing a bowl in a single hit. The Lotus produces thick, potent clouds, and the draw speed controls temperature intuitively. It's easy to use, fast to heat, and highly satisfying — especially through water pieces with the 14mm adapter.
Each Vapman and Lotus is a labour of love. From polishing wood to threading tiny components, the makers are hands-on with their process. Most parts are sourced locally, and even the gold-plating is done at a small Swiss company that supplies luxury decor for palaces. The goal? Maximum purity, minimal compromise, and a tactile, analog experience.
If you've only ever used plug-in or battery-powered devices, it's worth trying a butane-powered vaporizer like the Vapman or Lotus. These aren't just tools — they're instruments. And once you learn how to play them, they offer a uniquely rewarding experience that’s as much about ritual as it is about result.
Thanks to Michael and David for joining us and sharing the story behind these two beautifully crafted vaporizers. Whether you're into microdosing, cloud chasing, or just appreciating good design — the Vapman and Lotus deserve a spot in your rotation.
