The HydraVonG reviewed here is made from dark wood, but there is also a light wood option, available with or without a spinning mouthpiece. The first thing you’ll notice is the different look. The old NonaVonG model was squared off, but the new HydraVonG has shaping and machining to it that looks more like something you’d see in metal. The feel is interesting and makes the piece easy to spin in your hand.

Next, you’ll notice they’ve redesigned the shotgun adopting some recent breakthrough advances in carb technology. The HydraVonG’s shotgun is angled both vertically and horizontally, enabling you to adjust the airflow while it sits on your favourite water piece. The shape of the new carb changes how much air comes into the stem and makes the air swirl, giving you some adjustability versus the previous on/off design. The wood is now finished with food-grade carnauba wax for long-lasting protection.

HOW TO USE THE HYDRAVONG

Works great dry or with water tools

Personally, I prefer the standard sized HydraVonG over the HydraVonG XLS with the mouthpiece, but both work great dry or with water tools, so it’s all about your preference. When you buy a HydraVonG, it comes with a titanium tip, cap, 62mm stem and a standard condenser. If you already own DynaVap, this new stem fits with their other components, and the mix-and-match design is a much-loved feature of this brand.

The functionality is great as a handheld dry piece and it drops onto a 14mm water piece sitting nice and high. While I do appreciate the new shotgun design, it is a bit more difficult to find than the carb on the DynaVap M 2019 for example.

CONCLUSION

A great update

The HydraVonG adapter stem is a cool new update to DynaVap’s “Vape on Glass” VonG lineup. The new design is much more interesting to look at and hold, and the functionality is great. I wish every piece sat up high in an adapter as the HydraVonG does. I like the upgraded air intake, but I do wish it were easier to find just by feeling for it. Overall, the HydraVonG is a great update and I can’t wait to see what they have planned for the next OmniVap.

Daily driven, awesome vape

This was my first Dynavap. My inner autistic child could rub the grooved wooden cylinder between my fingers for hours on end, a tactile sensory delight. I replaced it with a newfangled 2021 Vong and while I *know* it's better in every way, I find myself pining for that comforting little wooden tube. Might actually order another wooden body, since I gifted my old one to a friend.

Love this Thing

Fits right into my bong with no adapter. Titanium tip heats and cools quicker then the Stainless Steel tip on my 2020 M. I think this a fantastic option for your first Dynavap if you intend to use it with a bong. I get huge rips off this and use less herb. VapeNorth shipped this out really quick.

Full "smoke"

Wasn't sure if I would like this lil guy, but turns out that I really do enjoy it! Paired it with the C-250 globe and have been very impressed with the performance. I "Highly" recommend this item The service was also amazing, Thank you Pete and Scott (packing was excellent)!
